Projects

Local communities have always been at the core of our activities, commitment that is well expressed in the countless initiatives promoted over the years targeted at children, youth, migrants, disabled persons and others. We also offer artistic residencies to young, independent theater groups, as well as promote thematic laboratories and workshops.

ISAO FESTIVAL

Acronym for Il Sacro Attraverso l’Ordinario (The Sacred Through the Ordinary), ISAO is our most traditional annual event. It deals with spirituality in the widest sense of the word, with focus on the performing arts, but also embracing other art forms, from cinema to sculpture.

ISAO actually precedes Il Mutamento itself as it started in 1994 as a short review spanning only a few days and has gradually grown to cover up to three weeks per edition. It has hosted countless internationally acclaimed artists from around the world next to the local and emerging ones. We are currently planning the XXVII edition of the ISAO Festival.

Up2Tou

Here at Il Mutamento we strongly believe the youth should assume a protagonist role in the community, and of course, also in cultural life. That is why we are seeking to launch a new, innovative project, with the ultimate goal of founding a theater festival in which young people become actively and utterly involved in all stages of planning and execution.

Our initiatives

ROSAGUERRA

Theatre performances dedicated to the role of women and youth in the World Wars and the interwar period, for middle school and high school students. These performances are followed by workshops on the relevant topics. They are held both at our seat and at schools.

OMPHALOS

After being funded with the MigrArti grant in 2018 offered by the Italian Ministry of Culture (MIBAC), Il Mutamento kickstarted a project featuring solely 2nd generation migrants. It was composed of two cycles of theatre labs and two performances that culminated in two original productions that premiered in the summer.
